Meet the Women Responsible for Keeping Women Playwrights Alive in the Yiddish Theatre Canon

A new episode of NYTF Radio features a talk with top experts on Ale Fenster Tzu der Zun playwright Kadye Molodowsky.

Welcome back to the Folksbiene’s Yiddish Women Playwrights Series! Curated by Sabina Brukner, YWPS began last spring with Chava Rosenfarb’s Bird of the Ghetto.

The series continues this summer with Ale Fenster Tsu der Zun (All Windows Face the Sun), written by prolific poet and playwright Kadya Molodowsky. The play premieres digitally on Tuesday, June 21, and will be available to stream indefinitely, for free, on our Folksbiene! LIVE On Demand streaming library.

To celebrate, we assembled Molodowsky experts Kathryn Hellerstein and Anita Norich for a chat with translator Faith Jones, discussing Molodowsky’s work and legacy.

You don’t want to miss this vital conversation. On top of putting Molodowsky’s plays in conversation with the rest of her written work, Hellerstein, Norich, and Jones give insight into the long-neglected archive of Yiddish woman dramatists ahead of the premiere of Ale Fenster Tsu der Zun

Episode: The Life and Works of Kadye Molodowsky
Host: Faith Jones
Guests: Kathryn Hellerstein and Anita Norich
