Touring Productions
NYTF brings Yiddish culture for audiences of all ages to theaters, synagogues, community centers and college campuses throughout the United States.
Current touring productions include:
The Folksbiene Troupe in “Mama’s Loshn Kugel”, a musical revue featuring classic and original Yiddish humor and theater songs performed by a company of six young actors and singers with live piano accompaniment. This show is entirely in Yiddish with English translation supertitles.
“Soul to Soul” An electrifying concert exploring the intersections between African-American and Yiddish musical traditions during the Civil Rights Era. It includes Yiddish theatre songs, songs of Jewish immigrants, jazz and classic spirituals. Conceived and directed by NYTF Artistic Director Zalmen Mlotek, it stars Lisa Fishman, Cantor Magda Fishman, Elmore James and Tony Perry. This concert is in Yiddish and English with English translation supertitles.

NYTF can also provide guest lecturers, including Artistic Director Zalmen Mlotek and Associate Artistic Director Motl Didner, speaking on a range of topics including the history of Yiddish theater, Yiddish theater songs, the making of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish. We can also offer Yiddish language classes and performance workshops.
