***FolksbieneRU division is a partnership initiative of National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene and Genesis Philanthropy Group.
RU Stage Lab is an opportunity for beginner adult actors, with Russian Jewish backgrounds, to utilize theatre as an instrument to delve into their family stories and explore how these stories connect to their lives today.
Participants will build up their “acting chops,” strengthening their voices, stage presence, and improvisation skills with weekly classes. Each class will consist of a master class led by the theatre directors and instructors Gera Sandler and Anna Zicer as well as invited professionals from the theatre industry. The participants will also have the opportunity to explore the industry further by attending professional theater shows and other related events.
To culminate the course, the ensemble will create a performance based on personal experiences of the storytellers presented at an NYC theatre.
November 2018-April 2019. Every Tuesday Night at 7pm.
