Join NYTF this Passover season as we commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

On erev Peysakh, April 19, 1943 fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto began armed resistance against their Nazi captors, heroically holding them off for forty-two days, becoming the symbols of all Jewish resistance during the Holocaust. Here we are in 2022, commemorating the event.

This year, we’re officially back LIVE, in person, and under the open skies at the stone, in Riverside Park (between 83rd and 84th Streets). We are working on recording the program to release as soon as possible after on video for those who can’t attend in person. This year’s program will feature talks and readings by:

Judy Batalion, author of The Light of Days: The Untold Story of Women Resistance Fighters in Hitler’s Ghetto

Steven Meed, translator of Vladka Meed’s On Both Sides of the Wall: Memoirs from the Warsaw Ghetto

Eleanor Reissa, author of The Letters Project: A Daughter’s Journey

and Marcel Kshensky, Chair.

We will also hear songs and readings from the khaveyrim: Joanne H. Borts, Maida Feingold, Michael Fox, Ben Gurdus, Shifee Losacco, Zalmen Mlotek, Steven Skybel, and members of the Workers Circle College Activist Group.
